Who Can Participate

To participate in our Flight of the Bumblebee Block of the Month program, you can join in one of two ways:

  • Be an active Star Member of The Quilt Show throughout 2027, or
  • Purchase a Flight of the Bumblebee BOM Kit.

Both active Star Members and kit purchasers will receive full access to all BOM patterns and project videos throughout the year.

If you’re purchasing a Star Membership specifically for the BOM program, you may wish to begin your membership in December to ensure access to all 12 monthly pattern releases for 2027. If you choose to join earlier, just plan to renew your membership so your access continues through the full program year.

What Is a Block of the Month Quilt?

A Block of the Month (BOM) quilt is a guided quilting program where you create one section of a quilt each month, building your skills step by step until your full quilt is complete.

Instead of tackling a large quilt all at once, a BOM breaks the process into manageable, enjoyable pieces—perfect for staying inspired and actually finishing your quilt.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the program start?
The first pattern will be released in January 2027.

Why is the kit available so early?
The beautiful fabrics in this kit are Riley Blake Expressions Hand Dyes, hand dyed specifically for this project in Indonesia. Due to the large quantity required—and the time-intensive, artisan dyeing process (which can’t take place during the rainy season)—production must begin well in advance.

We also plan ahead to account for global shipping and production timelines, ensuring your kit arrives in early December 2026, just in time for the holidays (and yes—it makes a wonderful gift!).

What if I fall behind?
No problem—go at your own pace. You’ll have access to the materials you need to catch up anytime.

Do I choose my colorway now?
Yes—when you preorder, you’ll select either Mountain Meadow or Ocean Breeze.

Is fabric included in the kit?
Yes! Your kit includes fabric for the quilt top and binding in your chosen colorway.

Will there be instructional videos?
